Our Culture & Beliefs
What we believe.
Our culture
How we live together
- 01
Culturally relevant, doctrinally pure
We believe the church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure — sensitively relating to our culture through our facility, printed materials, and use of the arts.
1 Corinthians 9:19–23
- 02
A unified community of servants
We believe a church should operate as a unified community of servants, with men and women stewarding their spiritual gifts. This includes unity, servanthood, spiritual gifts, and ministry callings.
1 Corinthians 12 & 14; Romans 12; Ephesians 4; Psalm 133:1
- 03
Excellence honors God
We believe excellence honors God and inspires people. This includes evaluation, critical review, intensity, and excellence.
Colossians 3:17; Malachi 1:6–14; Proverbs 27:17
- 04
Authenticity & continuous growth
We believe Christ followers should show authenticity and yearn for continuous growth — personal authenticity, character, and wholeness.
Ephesians 4:25–26, 32; Hebrews 12:1; Philippians 1:6
- 05
Lost people matter to God
We believe lost people matter to God, and therefore they matter to the church. This includes relational evangelism and evangelism as a process.
Luke 5:30–32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14
- 06
Life-change happens in community
We believe life-change happens best in community. This includes discipleship, vulnerability, and accountability.
Luke 6:12–13; Acts 2:44–47
- 07
Anointed teaching transforms
We believe anointed teaching is the catalyst for transformation in individuals' lives and in the church — teaching for life change.
Romans 12:7; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; James 1:23–25
- 08
Loving relationships everywhere
We believe loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life. This includes love-driven ministry, ministry accomplished in teams, and relationship building.
1 Corinthians 13; Nehemiah 3; Luke 10:1; John 13:34–35
- 09
Compel all people to come to Him
We believe God has commissioned us to compel people to come to Him regardless of their race, economic status, or culture. This includes conversion, transformation, and accepting the Holy Spirit for total life change.
Matthew 4:19; Mark 10:17–31; John 4; Romans 12:2; 1 Corinthians 12:3
Teachings
Blessing, sanctification & discipleship
The laying on of hands
We believe the laying on of hands is one of the ways blessings, healing, and the power of God are transferred from one person to another.
Acts 8:15–20; 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6
Sanctification
We believe sanctification is a work done instantaneously in the spirit, but one that must be developed progressively in the soul and in the body of a child of God.
Hebrews 12:14; Romans 6:19–22
Discipleship for new believers
Our New Converts Ministry is a requirement for new members receiving salvation for the first time and for new members rededicating their lives to Christ.
Hebrews 12:14; Romans 6:19–22
